Climbing trees in Central Park is an unlawful act.
She'd been told it before, some time in the distant past. Well, the 3 years they'd been out anyway. Ash yawned, stretching out on her branch high in a large tree. Maybe it was an oak, maybe a pine tree, she didn't really know. And at this moment, she didn't really care either. Three years. It was such a long time, but being out here was WAY better than inside that h-e-double-toothpicks-hole known as the School. Ash yawned again, her hands moving to rest behind her head, as she stared up at the sky. Her soft grey eyes, so much like her sister's, counted the amount of stars in the sky. Or, at least she tried. There were too many. d**n stars. She flipped over, looking at the branch she'd seen her sister on last. Well, she wasn't there now, but if Cat decided to creep up on her and pounce again Ash would probably go nuts. She was so tired, but full of energy so sleep was impossible at this present moment. Plus, she worried about Cat probably way too much than she should, but the little minx always found a way to get into trouble and so, Ash guessed her worry was justified. She couldn't hear anything dangerous or sneaky within the park though, so that was a plus side. No Erasers. Good. It felt good being up here, up this high. Really good. Unbelievably good. Ash's eyelids started to drop closed.

Cat had woken up a few hours before Ash, having fallen asleep way before her. She had transformed earlier and decided to dig up a flower or two. Or forty. And after that she had climbed back into th tree and sat on a branch above Ash, just waiting for her to wake up.
'Wakey wakey, sleepy head!' She shouted, her jet black hair blending into the night sky. She giggled and pounced on Ash, attempting to knock her from the branch, and failing. Instead, she herself slipped but grabbed into the branch with her teeth just before she fell. She said something, but it was muffled because she had a mouthful of wood. Giggling, she climbed on and sat beside Ash, and repeated what she had said.
'Do you like my art?' She qustioned, pointing out towards the destroyed flower patch, The sign said keep off the grass, but it didnt look nice, so I fixed it. Even though she was 15, she looked 7, and acted like it too. She loved being Ash's baby, even though there was only one years difference. She grinned from ear to ear, her dark fringe falling into her bright grey eyes which reflected the soft silver light of the moon.

Ash jumped as Cat decided to shout and pounce on her. "Catalyst!!! Jeesuus do you have to be so loud?" Ash's jump when she'd been woken had almost made her topple from the wobbling branch, but she obviously had more sense than her sister and had dug her hands into the wood. She looked over at the offending snow leopard hybrid, glaring, then decided it was a fruitless attempt as it would not phase Catalyst in the slightest and resigned herself to lean back against the tree trunk. "Yes Cat, very nice." The she looked properly upon hearing the added comment, and shot a look at the younger. "You do know that now we have to move on? There are gunna be cops all over this place at night now. All the same, well done. You're growing up." This last sentance was dripping with sarcasm. Catalyst would never grow up. Ash signed and knocked her head against the tree trunk, muttering to herself.

Cat stopped, her grin draning from her face. She hadn't realized she was loud. 'I wasn't that loud, Ash's just tired' she thought, and grinned again upon seeing Ash glaring at her. At first she had expected a long lecture about why she shouldn't dig up flowers, but when Ash turned away to lean against the tree trunk, she decided she wasn't getting one. An invitation to annoy Ash some more. She was about to push Ash to the ground, but stopped dead in her tracks at Ash's words.
'You do know that now we have to move on? There are gunna be cops all over this place at night now. All the same, well done'
Cat pouted and crossed her arms.
'I wanna stay here! I like it here. If you leave, I'm not going.' She said in a matter of factly tone. She sat down beside Ash and put her head on her shoulder.
'I think big, strong Ash can beat up a few cops, right?' she said, and added a little giggle. She turned to look a Ash, her grey eyes reflecting the moonlight. Ash started muttering and bashing her hed against the trunk, and a puzzled look crossed Cat's pale face.
'Em, why are you..?' She started but didn't finish her sentance. She put one hand on Ash's shoulder, trying to pull her back. 'You'll kill all your braincells and then I'll have to do all the thinking!' She shouted when Ash didn't stop. Of course it was a joke, though. Cat looked and acted like a 7 year old, but she was still smarter than one. She instantly got a picture in her head of Ash's brain falling out and burst into laugher.

Ash rolled her soft grey eyes at the younger and shot another look, even though she knew full well that it would be as ineffective on Cat as using anti-biotics on a virus would be. "You seriously don't get the concept of sarcasm do you?" She muttered, ceasing her head banging, instead putting her head in her hands, eyes closed. "The sarcasm was about the flowers, Cat. Just so we're clear on that. And I won't lose any braincells, I'm far too amazing." An electric grin flashed across Ash's stoic features. She sat up, swinging her legs over the branch and looking down. It was funny to think that while most teenagers were petrified of heights, here they were - up really really high (she didn't know how high exactly) and just looking down as if it were only an inch or two to the ground.
"I know you like it here. I like it here too." Ash retorted to Cat's stubborn words, quietly muttering a "especially when your asleep" on the end. "Stay if you want, I'm going. But I suggest you come too, I'm not sure the locals will take kindly to having a little minx like you around. Are you transforming or not?" At this last, she looked at her sister, who had the ability to transform into a snow leopard, if undersized. The lucky thing was that she couldn't speak human while in this form, so Ash would get some peace and quiet at least, and she'd fit into Ash's backpack.
Jumping off onto the branch below, just two feet down from the one Cat was perched on, Ash looked at the horizon. It was still pretty dark, but the sun was just starting to come up. They couldn't be up here when it was light anyway. Pesky cops would come calling. Switching her glance back to Cat, Ash unfolded her wings and stretched them. They were a soft brown, with a slightly reddish tint to the undersides, accented with russet, coffee and cream streaks to the secondaries. She waited patiently for the girl's answer.

Catalyst ceased her laughter, but continued to grin at Ash. She wrapped one finger around her hair and started twirling it around. 'I get sarcasm!' She cried, even though it was clear that she didn't. She folded her arms and turned her back to Ash, pouting. She swung her feet back and forth as she sat on the branch, her face still pouting. 'Stay if you want, I'm going. But I suggest you come too, I'm not sure the locals will take kindly to having a little minx like you around. Are you transforming or not?' Ash asked. Cat turned her head to look at Ash, her eyes still pleading. 'I'm not a minx! I'm a Snow Leopard! She shouted, then added And I told you, I'm not leaving.', before jumping to one of the highest branches on the tree. As she did, one of the razor sharp metal leaves she wore in her hair almost clipped Ash's arm. 'Oops' Cat thought, hoping it didn't acctually hit Ash, for she knew how mad Ash would get if Cat cut her. She folded her arms again upon landing and sat down. Cat could jump really, really high, although she wasn't sure how high. She unfolded her arms to open her bag and pick out her red nail polish. She started painting her nails. Her last coat had become chipped, and she knew it would annoy Ash.
Out of the corner of her eye, Cat saw Ash unfolding her wings. Ash wouldn't really fly off without her, right? She just had to sit on the branch in protest until Ash gave in and let her stay.

Ash snorted at her sister's remark. "Right, you get sarcasm. I'll believe that when I see it." She stretched her arms out forward, yawning. "Well, since I didn't get much sleep," at this, Ash shot a glare at Catalyst, "and seeing as you know I can't sleep once I wake up, I'm going. You coming?" She ignored Catalyst's protests about not wanting to leave. Ash was reluctant to ditch Catalyst, but if the little minx wouldn't budge then she'd probably just hover out of sight of the younger and follow her. No, not stalk her. But seeing as Cat looked like she really believed that Ash would leave her, Ash's grey eyes softened. "All right calm down!! Minx is the word that I use for naughty little snow leopard girls like you. Seeing as we don't know any others, it's also your nickname." Ash looked away and at the sunset. She had no idea what Cat's nickname for her was, and probably didn't want to know. As Cat jumped to one of the higher branches, one of those d**ned metal razor leaf things she always insisted on wearing clipped her arm. It was only a small cut, but since Ash hadn't put her hoodie on yet it still got the skin. A small amount of crimson liquid leaked from the cut, drawing Ash's attention and guaranteeing it for the next 5 minutes. Ash knew that Cat hadn't meant to clip her, and it was only a small cut so she didn't explode like she used too when she got a massive gash on her leg or something. It would only take 5 minutes to fix. Folding her wings back in and sitting back against the trunk, Ash pulled out a tiny first aid kit that seriously needed topping up. There was no telling where those razor things had been but from Cat's nocturnal activities, Ash guessed in the soil. She dumped some antiseptic on the small wound, the sting making her wince only slightly, and proceeded to wind a bandage round her upper arm and tied the knot with her teeth. She looked at Catalyst. "OK, we can stay in the city today. In the afternoon we can come back here and if your little nocturnal activities haven't brought a crowd, we can stay one more night. ONE. That does not mean TEN, got it?"

Catalyst continued to paint her nails, acidentally painting part of her finger aswell. 'Oops!' she laughed, scratching it off and peeking back down at Ash. She saw a red streak on Ashs skin and for a second fear flashed on her already pale face. She adjusted the blood red headband on her head so her hair wasn't in her eyes so much. She knew that if Ash got mad there would be no way they would be staying here for any longer. When Ash didn't say anything about the cut but instead said something about Minx being Cat's nickname she pouted. 'Oh you'd love to know your nickname, birdy!' She muttered under her breath, and, tucking her legs up onto the branch, she started blowing her nail polish dry. 'OK, we can stay in the city today. In the afternoon we can come back here and if your little nocturnal activities haven't brought a crowd, we can stay one more night. ONE. That does not mean TEN, got it?' Ash said sternly. Cat smiled, and then, looking dead serious, nodded. She slided back down onto the branch that Ash was perched on and hugged her tightly. 'Thank you thank you thank you! Can we go shopping? Can we, can we, can we? Pleeeeaassee!!' She cried, all in one breath. But then she noticed a poster taped to a tree near them. 'Ash, I wanna go there' She said, stopping her hug to point at the poster. 'Circus!' It said in big, bold, yellow and orange font.
((OOC: Hehe, lets bring in some Erasors or something to the circus xD.))

Ash wasn't looking at Cat so she didn't see the flash of fear as Cat saw the red scratch on her arm. Meh. It didn't hurt, not really. Now safely bandaged, her arm only stang slightly due to the antiseptic. She sighed and leaned against the tree, her hands behind her head like she was lounging on a sofa. What Ash would do for a sofa right now. Definately more comfortable than a tree. "Cat, I heard that." Ash muttered in exasperation. Sometimes her sensitive hearing came in useful. When the hyper little snow leopard jumped down to her branch and hugged her hard around the middle in happiness to her statement, Ash winced slightly. Her ribs would be bruised tomorrow. Or rather, later today. Great. "Owowowowow OK Cat I get the picture. You're happy." When her hyperactive little sister pointed to a poster of a circus, Ash sighed. Great - a fear of closed in spaces vs Cat bugging her about not going. Now, which one was more annoying? Ash stood there, hands in jeans pockets and head tilted sideways, looking at Cat with one eyebrow up. Just thinking, studying her little sister to see if she would be good. "OK." She gave in. MAN, Ash hated it when Cat did those bambi eyes! "This morning we'll go shopping and in the afternoon we'll go to the circus. But Cat, any funny business and we won't go. No tails, no destroying flowers, no growling, no being hyper basically." They had to stay hidden. Sure, they were going to the circus later but that still emphasized secrecy.
((OOC: OMG yeah!! Haha, I've got a great line for one of the Erasers now!))

Ash had settled down on the branch shortly before Cat had hugged//attacked her. She giggled at Ash's words and fully released her of her grasp, keeping one finger pointing in the direction on the poster. She added an extra 'Please!' when she saw Ash sighing, her big eyes shining and reflectingthe dim light under the canopy of the tree. When Ash raised one eyebrow she put on her best innocent face, looking up at Ash through her thick black eyelashes. 'OK. This morning we'll go shopping and in the afternoon we'll go to the circus. But Cat, any funny business and we won't go. No tails, no destroying flowers, no growling, no being hyper basically.' Cat listenened to Ash intently and nodded a few times after she was finished. 'I'll be good.' Cat promised, but crossing her fingers behind her back at the same time. 'But I don't want to go shopping anymore! I want to go to the circus now! It has different times!' she pleaded. She knew Ash would give in, she always knew how to twist Ash around her little finger, even if it did include moaning until she got her way. She smiled up at Ash with a small glint in her eyes.
